Recruitment Materials

Please bring a sufficient supply of recruitment materials, as no printing facilities are available on site.

Advance shipments of materials may be delivered to FirstOntario Centre. Any packages that have not been previously identified will be rejected. Please note this is a non-secure holding area.

Return shipments are the responsibility of the exhibitor. No materials may remain at the facility beyond 4:30 p.m. on the day of the fair.

Please refer to the Shipping & Handling Information page for detailed instructions, including information on customs and transportation services.

Audio-Visual Equipment

Companies registered for this fair are responsible for bringing their own audio-visual equipment.

Booth Signage and Nametags

We will provide each representative with a lanyard and exhibitor identification badge. Badges will be personalized with the company name only. All employers must wear their identification badge while at the fair.

Booth Set-Up and Hours

We strongly recommend that employers set up their booth the day before the event, if possible. Staff will be available to assist you from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023. If you are unable to come the day before the fair, you can also set up the morning of the event March 7, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Note: The loading dock doors will close promptly at 9:45 a.m. on the day of the fair. Please plan accordingly.

Loading Instructions

Large displays can enter and pull into the loading dock area located off Bay St. You will have 15 minutes for unloading in this area. We will have volunteers and dollies ready to help unload your car and bring your packages to your booth. Please have all packages clearly marked with your company name and booth number.

Note: Load-in space is very limited at the FirstOntario Centre. We highly suggest that you set up the day before, if possible.

Refreshments and Lunch

Breakfast will be provided between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be available between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Representatives must show their lanyard to access the employer lounge.  Available for up to 4 representatives per organization.

Employer Registration Terms and Conditions

January 2023

The following terms and conditions apply to employers registering for the Connect to Careers Job Fair (March 7, 2023), a partnership between McMaster University, Mohawk College, Redeemer University and Workforce Planning Hamilton.

  • Attendance at the Fair is restricted to organizations representing the recruiting needs of the participating organization; promotion of services and/or products for any other purpose is not permitted.
  • The Connect to Careers Committee reserves the right to decline any organization’s participation in recruitment events. The rationale may include start-up costs, franchise (self-employment) opportunities, illegal compensation structures, human rights or safety concerns, student complaints and overdue accounts.
  • An organization with an outstanding invoice will not be allowed to register for a future fair until full payment is received for past and current events.
  • Fair registration will only be confirmed upon receipt of payment.

Third-Party and Temp Agency Registration

Third-party recruiters may attend the Fair under their own corporate identity only if they are recruiting for their own organization. No other client opportunities may be advertised at the Fair.

Online talent recruiters or job posting services are eligible to participate for promotional purposes. Attendance at Connect to Careers as an exhibitor is restricted to organizations representing the recruiting needs of their specific participating organization.

Professional Associations Registration

Professional associations representing career areas or designations may attend the Fair, provided they are currently recruiting for positions within their organization.

Severe Weather

The Connect to Careers Committee reserves the right to cancel the Fair based on severe weather conditions that would result in the closure of the partner institutions’ main campuses: McMaster University, Mohawk College, Redeemer University and Workforce Planning Hamilton.

In the case of an event cancellation, participating organizations who have submitted a payment at the time of the cancellation will have their registration fee refunded.

Neither a refund nor a compensatory registration at an upcoming Fair will be issued if the Fair is in operation and an exhibitor is unable to attend due to severe weather in their own geographical region.

Cancellation and Refunds

Refund and cancellation requests must be sent via email to waterm3@mcmaster.ca; such requests are subject to charges based on the time of cancellation.

  • Registrations cancelled before February 1, 2023, will receive a full refund.
  • Registrations cancelled before February 20, 2023, will receive a 50% refund.
  • Any cancellations after February 20, 2023, will not be eligible for a refund.

  • No subletting of space at the Fair is permitted.
